METAL STUDIO 2 - the new generation of our program for drawing metal structures has just been released.

Metal Studio 2 enables true 3D modeling of spatial structures while using the ease of 2D (planar) working. Following the example of the Tower program, spatial modeling can be performed via arbitrarily defined 2D views in which drawing and processing of the complete 3D model is performed in selected planes and as simply as in a 2D drawing.

• By easily creating an arbitrary number of view planes and placing them in one or more AutoCAD views (Viewport), Metal Studio 2 enables complete simplification of drawing complex connection nodes in which multiple girders from multiple planes and directions meet.

• Modeling and creating drawings of roof structures in an inclined plane or inclined sides of Lattice transmission tower is completely facilitated. By drawing in an inclined view, everything is drawn in the correct dimensions and exactly the same as in a standard 2D drawing, so the possibility of error and the need for improvisation is reduced to the minimum possible.

• Extracting details and views from a complete 3D model is completely easy and simple, with full freedom to choose the direction and depth of view.

• Working with a complete 3D model primarily allows for an overview of the entire structure, but also a better check of the profiles and sheets used.

• By using the function for exporting a 3D model from the Tower program and importing it into Metal Studio, a complete 3D model is obtained in the Metal Studio program in a few steps. In such a model, connection details can now be resolved in a very easy and logical way and the final product can be created.

In addition to these main innovations related to 3D modeling, a number of improvements have been introduced to the existing functionality that comes from the Metal Studio 1 program.
We highlight only a part of these improvements:
• Easier finding of entities in the Position Database list, improved sorting and a larger number of added numbering methods.
• New features and options in the display of entities and their dimensions - with the ability to assign your own color and dimension size multiplication factor
• Color settings for each used profile are enabled to control the profiles used in the entire model.
• The ability to easily replace one dimension style with another has been added.
• The ability to increase and adjust the size of the dialog has been introduced for almost all dialogs that contain graphic displays of bars and sheets, which allows users with large monitors
to work more clearly and easily.
• Improvements in creating reports and creating additional types of reports.

Metal Studio 2 is fully backward compatible and drawings drawn in Metal Studio 2 can be saved in Metal Studio 1 format using a special command.

Additional new functionalities planned for the near future and for the next releases of Metal Studio 2 are:
• Ability to automatically generate DSTV (NC) files for CNC machines for cutting profiles and sheets
• Ability to fully convert all Metal Studio entities to AutoCAD elementary entities
• Compatibility with BricsCAD
