Hello Radimpex Team,
Can you introduce calculation of the interstorey drift sensitivity coefficient θ in new buids of Tower 6?

EC8:
θ = Ptot/Vtot * dr/h * q ≤ 0,10

Ptot is the total gravity load at and above the storey considered in the seismic design situation

Vtot is the total seismic storey shear

dr is the design interstorey drift, evaluated as the difference of the average lateral displacements ds at the top and bottom of the storey under consideration, determined by a linear analysis based on the design response spectrum

h is the interstorey height.

BDS NPSSZR-2007:
θ = Ptot/Vtot * dr/h * 1/R ≤ 0,10

q=1/R is the behavior factor

We will consider this calculation for implementation in next version of Tower. There is a very small chance to put this functionality in one of future builds of Tower 6, because of several "tricky" input variables because of I am afraid that there is no shortcut or easy solution.

Thank you for your respond. I believe that you'll find the best solution for this problem in next version of Tower.
To the current version might be easier to add tabular report in seismic analysis.
Something like this:

Stivy,
be carefull when calculating Interstorey drift sensitivity coeficient-
There are several variables that Tower can not provide correctly for the previous formula
θ = Ptot/Vtot * dr/h

Vtot-base shear-Tower doesnt know definition of Total storey shear force-the only way to extract this value is to combine storey force from all modes by srss from tower seismic report-still not right value but conservative for pi-delta (Vtot from CQC is higher but there is no way you can get it from Tower)
dr-interstorey drift- no way you can get this values correctly-you can find horizontal deflections from each storey and subtract them but that is not correct.lateral displacements of the storeys resulted from the response spectrum analysis are the maximum ones and they do not coexist on all storeys. Maximum lateral displacements of two consecutive storeys do not necessarily give the maximum interstorey drift ratio!
cheers!
