How to remove Armcad Data from dwg file.
I copy some lines and text from Armcad dwg and copy to new file. The text is not ArmCAD elements, but when i reopen new file, Advance Steel want to run ArmCAD. Somewhere in the new file it is written that the information comes from armcad.
So every time I open/regenerate a file, autocad asks if I should open armcad, even though there is no information from armcad in the file.
This behavior is strange and should only apply if there are armcad objects in the file.

Re: remove ArmCAD data from file
This is a problem in AutoCAD that we have pointed out to AutoDESK since 2012. This problem is not only with ArmCAD but with all AutoCAD applications that create custom entities.
Simply, when opening a drawing, when AutoCAD detects a custom entity (an entity created in an AutoCAD application), AutoCAD will try to open that application and if it fails, it will display a message about it (dialog with proxy graphics).
By the way, there are ArmCAD objects in the drawing, including invisible entities (e.g. formwork or a branched structure for placing objects and entities...). When ArmCAD is started, ArmCAD must be ready to accept the commands and accept the creation of its entities. These objects are not only visible entities (bars, series, elevations...)
That behavior of AutoCAD is as it is and Autodesk has no intention of making any changes or improvements there.
So far, we have found only one way with which any information originating from ArmCAD can be removed from the drawing relatively easily.
1) Open a drawing in AutoCAD that does not have ArmCAD installed.
(If you don't have multiple versions of AutoCAD, unplug the ArmCAD USB key instead.) It is important that the drawing containing the ArmCAD entities is opened without letting ArmCAD to start.
2) set all layers to be visible. With Ctrl+A select the entire drawing and with Ctrl+C copy all entities to the Clipboard
3) open a new, empty drawing. Be sure to select the basic AutoCAD template as a template file: acad.dwt
4) Paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the Clipboard into such a newly opened drawing. This will transfer all content (except ArmCAD related data) to the new drawing.
5) save that drawing.
