Hi to all,
I'm wondering how T7 take into account Multipliers? If I input 0.5 for inplane stiffness T7 will:
A) Multiply cross section property A1, I2 with factor 0.5?
B) Multiply E with factor 0.5 (and consequently G in isotropic material)?
My particular concern is about shear reduction. How to apply it correctly according to EC8?
Thank you in advance
Multipliers?
Re: Multipliers?
Each finite element with which the surface girder (slab or wall) is modeled in the Tower program is a composition of two overlapping independent finite elements - a shell (for bending perpendicular to the plane) and a membrane (for in-plane stress).
Each of them has its own characteristics and properties.
The in-plane stress strength multiplier ("Multiplier for in plane stiffness") affects the modulus of elasticity of the membrane finite element (Em).

But, I'm still confused regarding reduction of G modulus.
If we apply multiplier for in plane stiffness, does reduction of Em modulus also mean that we reduce in plane G modulus via G=E/(1+mi)? Or G modulus remain unreduced?
Thank you b.milan for your effort.
